2022 has been another thrilling year for Nissan in the U.S. We made great strides in our move toward Ambition 2030, Nissan's long-term vision for electrification and technology innovation to empower mobility, building on the momentum of our Nissan NEXT transformation.
Here are some highlights of our year – although it's hard to list only a few:
Our exciting vehicles helped to drive our transformation – and it's the thrill of the drive we highlighted when we returned to the Super Bowl with an ad featuring the all-new 2023 Nissan Z and the all-new, all-electric 2023 Nissan Ariya. Both vehicles arrived in dealer showrooms this year as the "A to Z" bookends of our lineup, one of the freshest in the industry.
As we expand our electrification offering globally, we announced a significant investment in our Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant to produce two all-new, all-electric vehicles in the U.S. We also established the EV Transformation Office, strengthening our commitment to empowering mobility and building on our past achievements in electrification.
We continue to drive innovation, including partnering with Teledyne Brown Engineering and Sierra Space to design a next-generation Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) and participating in a traffic pattern study aimed at advancing the future of mobility. And even while we're looking far away and far ahead, we've stayed local. The commitment to those in our communities endures, as the Nissan Foundation celebrated 30 years and awarded $848,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations that promote a greater appreciation and understanding of America's diverse cultural heritage
We're even more excited for what 2023 will bring, as we continue our journey to Ambition 2030 and work toward a cleaner, safer and more inclusive world. And we look forward to continuing to work with our valued media colleagues over the next year – and beyond.
On behalf of the entire Nissan Communications team, wishing you and yours a happy holiday season and a wonderful new year.
